Another Evasive Star Served in Public

starsJohnny Manziel, the troubled formed Cleveland Browns quarterback, has become more known for his public stunts and legal woes than his talent on the football field. Manziel was finally served papers when leaving a club because he had evaded his process server during private service attempts. Tyga, the rapper boyfriend of Kylie Jenner, is now joining Manziel in that spotlight after being publically served papers for a legal dispute with his ex-landlord.

On July 20th, Tyga was on stage performing at Fluxx Nightclub in San Diego. As part of his performance, Tyga reached out to the audience, but instead of receiving a gift from an admirer, Tyga ended up with legal documents informing him that he was being sued for nearly $500,000 in damages from his old rental property.

Tyga is in very serious trouble, but his behavior does not indicate that he is taking his legal problems seriously. According to his old landlord’s attorney, Tyga failed to attempt a court hearing regarding the money owed for the damages, leading to a warrant being filed for his arrest. The serviced papers, the court date, and the arrest warrant, however, did nothing to stop Tyga from giving girlfriend Kylie Jenner a $189,000 Mercedes-Maybach for her 19th birthday.

When Tyga was served, a lien was created on his property that prevents the transfers of any assets. Unless the judgment is satisfied, Kylie’s new car will likely be repossessed. In the words of the landlord’s lawyer, “This is not the only judgment against him. I think we are the only ones who took it this far, because it’s a large amount. We take our representation very seriously and we will continue to do it until our client is satisfied. Hopefully, now he understands there are repercussions and we will continue to push this matter forward.”
